In July, my husband told me something about a family that we were stationed with while living in Mobile, AL with the US Coast Guard. It was a story about a 2 year old little girl named Kaylee. You see, Kaylee had been suddenly diagnosed in March of 2011 with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. After religiously following the story of Layla Grace Marsh just a few short months before, I was inspired by her story to do a little something for this family. Kaylee had just gone through chemo and lost all of her hair. I remembered seeing pictures of Layla Grace on her families blog and she was always in this really cute flower hat. That's when, as a boutique owner, I decided to make a hat to send her. Therefore, The Kaylee Hat became a very special item to me. |
